GEMSBOK

The Gemsbok is also known as the southern oryx and is a species of antelope and is native to South Africa.

Gemsbok are well known for their distinct appearance,They have long, straight horns that extend backward from their heads. These horns can reach lengths of up to 33 inches (85 centimeters) in females and 45 inches (115 centimeters) in males. Their coats are typically grayish-brown to tan in color, with lighter underparts.They have black markings on their face and legs.

Their diets mainly comprises of leaves and other vegetation, this is because they are grazers and since they are also browsers they will also eat twigs and othr plants available.Their ability to extract moisture from the plants they consume allows them to survive in water-scarce environments.

Gemsboks are well adapted to arid and semi-arid environments, including deserts, savannas, and scrublands. They are found in countries such as Namibia, Botswana, South Africa, and parts of Angola and Zimbabwe. Gemsboks are highly adapted to survive in harsh desert conditions, and they can go for long periods without water, obtaining moisture from the plants they eat.
